Last night two lists came to mind which I write regularly. I first did them as part of Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” and I found them with slight variations in many trainings.
Write a list with 20 things you love, Write down things that make your heart sing, that cheer you up – and put this list where you can see it every day.
Do it now, put down the numbers 1 – 20 and start, small things like lemon cheesecake, a butterfly, personal things like your lover’s smiling eyes, whatever you love, write it down.
Looking at this list on a daily basis will not only put a smile on your face, you’ll experience this universe as rich and vibrant.
The second list is – for most people – a bit difficult first, but it’s well worth the effort:
write down things you love about yourself. Starts small and write without thinking or stopping.
Don’t worry that you won’t find 50 things – once you start and tell your mind to stop interfering (easier said than done, I know).
Read this list often, maybe you’ll find 20 things first, then you look and can add another 5 or 10.
If you are struggling with this one, it’s maybe time to ask a good friend what they like/love about you.
Try it now – and leave a comment to let me know how it goes.
Great exercise. One list I make every night is a set of tasks I need to do the next day. It helps me prioritize and stay organized!
I love this post and exercise. It’s a very nice twist on starting your day with gratitude. The second list really let’s you love yourself. Very nice!
